The June 18th Asian Arts sale will feature over 400 lots from China, Japan, Korea, South Asia and South East Asia. The Chinese section includes a Canadian collection of 19th century huanghuali furniture brought over from Beijing in the 1920's, three collections of mid-20th century ivory carvings, a fine 17th century Kangxi Period cloisonne censer, a large 19th century jade carved water buffalo, blue and white porcelain from the late Ming to Republican periods, Chinese scroll paintings from artists such as Nie Ou (1948- ) and Zhao Shao'ang (1905-1998), a collection of Ming Buddhist bronzes from a Toronto Collection, and a selection of 18th to 19th century export porcelain. The Japanese section of the sale includes woodblock prints from Hiroshi Yoshida (1876-1950) and Kawase Hasui (1883-1957), a selection of netsuke from Montreal, a private Toronto collection of samurai swords, and a selection of 19th century Japanese early black and white photography.
