The June 4th 2012 Asian Art sale will feature over 350 lots from China, Japan, Korea, South Asia and the Himalayas. The Chinese section of the sale will feature over 200 lots including three important scroll painting collections from the Henricksen Family in Upstate New York, the K. C. Tai Collection from Hong Kong, and an Important Toronto collection respectively.
Also up for sale is a collection of huali furniture from Nova Scotia, a collection of Chinese Buddhist bronzes, an Imperial white jade bowl with Yamanaka, New York, provenance, a celadon glazed bottle vase with Qianlong mark and of the period, scholar items including a finely carved incense container from the Kangxi Period, Chinese export silver, and other decorative works of art.
The Japanese portion of the sale will feature shin hanga woodblock prints, fine satusma earthenware, painted scrolls and screens, and ivory carvings. Also up for sale is a collection of Indo-Persian miniatures from a Toronto family, all acquired in London during the 1960's.
